又薩婆多論云。若已受八戒而鞭打眾生。或言。待至明日當打。皆令戒不清淨。非是破戒。

Furthermore, the Sarvāstivāda-śāstra states: 'If one who has already received the eight precepts whips sentient beings, or says, “Wait until tomorrow and I will beat you,” these all render the precepts impure, but do not constitute breaking the precepts.'
