汝見肉揵稚號噭聲者。是地獄人。迦葉佛時。是出家人。以三寶物非法打稚詐作羯磨。捉三寶物為己受用。故入地獄。作肉揵稚火燒受苦。至今不息。

The flesh ghaṇṭī that you heard wailing and screaming is a denizen of hell. In the time of Kāśyapa Buddha, he was a monastic. For the sake of the property of the Three Jewels, he improperly struck the ghaṇṭī and falsely performed karmavācanā rituals, seizing the property of the Three Jewels for his own enjoyment. Therefore, he entered hell, where he became a flesh ghaṇṭī burned by fire, suffering pain without respite even to this day.
