99.31

又正法念經云。若有眾生見諸病人。施其湯藥令離病苦。命終生欲境天受五欲樂。從天命終若得人身。大富多財。若見病人臨終渴病。以石蜜漿。若氷水施。此人命終生清涼天受天快樂。從天命終得受人身常離飢渴。

The Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra also says: "If there is a sentient being who sees the sick and gives them medicinal broths to free them from the suffering of illness, upon the end of their life they will be born in the heavens of the desire realm to enjoy the pleasures of the five desires. When their life in heaven ends, if they obtain a human body, they will be greatly rich with abundant wealth. If one sees a sick person facing death who suffers from thirst and gives them rock-sugar syrup or ice water, this person, upon the end of their life, will be born in the Heaven of Cool Purity to enjoy heavenly bliss. When their life in heaven ends, they will obtain a human body and be constantly free from hunger and thirst."
