"Seventh vow: May it be that when I become a Buddha, if among the devas and humans of the countless Buddha-lands in the eight directions, above and below, there are good sons or good daughters who practice the bodhisattva path and uphold the six pāramitās, or who become śramaṇas and do not violate the sūtras and precepts, sever craving and desire, keep the fasts and precepts purely, and single-mindedly desire to be born in my land day and night without interruption—when such a person's life is about to end, I will fly with all the bodhisattvas and arhats to welcome them. They shall immediately come and be born in my land, becoming avaivartika bodhisattvas of brave and fierce wisdom. If I obtain this vow, only then will I become a Buddha; if I do not obtain this vow, I will never become a Buddha.
