Furthermore, the Yogācārabhūmi states: Furthermore, there are eight distinct stages of this womb-treasury. What are the eight? They are called the stage of kalala, the stage of arbudam, the stage of peśī, the stage of ghana, the stage of praśākhā, the stage of hair and nails, the stage of the sense-faculties, and the stage of bodily form. When it has congealed and within is thin like arrow[-juice], it is called kalala. When inside and outside it is like curd and flesh has not yet formed, it is called arbudam. When it has formed flesh yet remains extremely soft, it is called peśī. When it has become firm and thick, somewhat able to withstand touching, it is called ghana. When this ball of flesh grows and the signs of limbs appear, it is called praśākhā. From this point onward, hair and nails appear, which is called that stage. From this point onward, the faculties such as the eyes are generated, which is called the stage of the faculties. From this point onward, their bases appear distinctly, which is called the stage of bodily form.
