Furthermore, because of divisive speech, one's words are always harsh. If in this life, on account of harsh speech, one incites conflict, inflicts harm, mutually attacks, and kills sentient beings, upon death one will immediately fall into the Hell of Knives and Weapons, undergoing myriad sufferings and afflictions for distant kalpas. When the suffering is finished, one falls among animals, having one's feet torn off and thighs sold, one's haunches delivered and spleen lost, undergoing myriad sufferings and afflictions for distant kalpas. When the suffering is finished, one undergoes immeasurable births and deaths therein. By virtue of one's fundamental causes and conditions, if one encounters slight good, one may feebly regain a human body, but one's four limbs will be incomplete, castrated, having feet amputated, tattooed, and nose cut off, one's bodily frame ruined, not guarded by spirits, despised and abandoned by people. One should know that injuring and harming sentient beings all arises from harsh speech.
