東勝身洲(古云弗于逮或云弗婆提或云毘提呵皆梵語輕重不同也正梵音云補囉嚩尾禰賀義譯為身勝毘曇云以彼洲人身形殊勝體無諸疾量長八肘故以為名也)。

Pūrvavideha, the eastern continent of superior bodies (東勝身洲: anciently called *Fuyudai* [弗于逮], *Fupoti* [弗婆提], or *Vidiha* [毘提呵], which are all variations of light and heavy syllables in Sanskrit. The correct Sanskrit sound is *pūrvavideha* (補囉嚩尾禰賀), translated by its meaning as “Superior Body”. The *Abhidharma* states: “Because the bodily forms of the people on that continent are extraordinarily superior, their physical constitutions are free of all illnesses, and their height measures eight cubits, it is named after this.”)
