Aparagodānīya, the western continent of cattle-wealth (西牛貨洲: anciently called *Jujiani* [瞿伽尼], *Juyeni* [俱耶尼], or *Jutuoni* [瞿陀尼], all of which are regional variations in Sanskrit. The correct Sanskrit sound is *godānīya* (過嚩抳), which is translated by its meaning as “Cattle-wealth”. The *Abhidharma-śāstra* states that because there are many cattle there, and they use cattle as currency for trade, it is named after this. *Gū* (瞿) is pronounced *ju* + *yu* in fanqie; *vǎ* (嚩) is pronounced *wu* + *ke* in fanqie; *nǐ* (抳) is pronounced *ni* + *ni* in fanqie).
