仇匹（上渠牛反錯用也正體作逑毛詩云君子好逑傳曰逑匹也爾雅述合也郭璞云對合也說文聚𣫍也從辵求聲也辵音丑略流目為走繞經文作仇仇讎也仇怨也非匹合義下篇密反有作疋俗字訛也考聲匹偶也輩也韻英云偶合也說文四丈也從上匕音稧俠藏義也從八八者匹有八牒也）。

Companion and match (仇匹: the first character is 渠 + 牛 fanqie; it is used erroneously, its correct standard form being 逑. The Shijing says: 'A good match (好逑) for the gentleman'; the commentary says: '逑 means a match (匹).' The Erya says: '述 means to unite.' Guo Pu says: 'To pair up.' The Shuowen says: 'To gather and assemble; it takes 辵 as semantic and 求 as phonetic.' 辵 is pronounced 丑 + 略 fanqie, commonly written as the walking radical (辶). In the sūtra text it is written 仇; 仇 means enemy,仇 means grievance, not the sense of a harmonious match. The second character is 篇 + 密 fanqie; some write it 疋, which is an erroneous popular form. The Kaosheng says: '匹 means mate; peer.' The Yunying says: 'To pair together.' The Shuowen says: 'Four zhang; it takes the upper 匕, pronounced 稧, conveying the sense of concealing, and takes 八, because a roll of cloth (匹) has eight folds").
