陿劣（咸甲反顧野王曰陿迫隘不廣大也經文從犬從夾作狹非也乃是狹習犬馬也非經意說文正體從𠂤從匚音方夾聲也下戀掇反考聲云弱也少也會意字或作寽埒古字也）。

Xialie [narrow and inferior] (fanqie: xian- + -jia; Gu Yewang says: 'Xia means cramped and narrow, not broad and grand.' The sūtra text writing with 'dog' and jia as 狹 is incorrect; that means hunting with dogs and horses, not the meaning of the sūtra. The standard form in the Shuowen is composed of 𠂤 and 匚 [fanqie: fang- + -...] with jia as phonetic. The second character is fanqie: lian- + -duo; the Kaosheng says: 'Weak; scarce; an associative compound.' Sometimes written as 寽 or 埒, which are ancient characters).
