悒慼（上音立反蒼頡篇云悒悒不舒之皃也說文不安也形聲字下請亦反或作慽何休注公羊傳云痛也鄭注論語云多憂懼也說文慽憂懼也又解戚字從戊音千月反尗聲也尗音[?*十]）。

Depressed and sorrowful (悒慼: the upper character [depressed (悒)] is pronounced with the fanqie of 立 [lì]. The Cang Jie Pian says: '悒悒 means the appearance of unease.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Restless'; a phono-semantic compound. The lower character [sorrowful (慼)] is 請 [qing] + 亦 [yi] [qī]; it is also written as 慽. He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: 'Painful.' Zheng's commentary on the Lunyu says: 'Much anxiety and fear.' The Shuowen jiezi says: '慽 means anxiety and dread.' It also explains that the character 戚 is composed of 戊, pronounced 千 [qian] + 月 [yue] [qiè], with 尗 as phonetic; 尗 is pronounced [?*十]).
