寇敵（上口遘反廣雅寇抄孔注尚書云羣行攻劫曰寇左傳兵作於內為亂於外曰寇說文寇[日/出/大/手]也從支從完當其完聚而亦寇之完亦聲也）。

寇敵 [Bandit-foes]: The first character is read with the fanqie 口 [k-] + 遘 [-òu] (kòu). The Guangya says: '寇 means to plunder.' Kong's Commentary on the Book of Documents states: 'When crowds assemble to attack and rob, it is called 寇.' The Zuo zhuan says: 'When troops rise up internally and create disorder externally, it is called 寇.' The Shuowen says: '寇 means to tyrannise; it is formed from [the hand radical] 攴 and 完 (complete). When [people] gather in completeness, [the bandits] also invade them; 完 also acts as phonetic.'
