𣧕[(餐-食)-又+(刀/又)] (The upper character is pronounced 妖 + 矯 [*yǎo*]. The *Kaosheng* says: 'Dying young is called 𣧕.' Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo Commentary* says: 'To be broken short young is called 妖.' The *Gu-jin zhengzi* says it takes 歺 as semantic classifier and 夭 as phonetic component. The lower character is pronounced 摸 + 骨 [*mò*]. Kong [Anguo]'s commentary on the *Shangshu* says: 'To perish and die.' Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the *Liji* says: '[(餐-食)-又+(刀/又)] means to come to an end.' The commentary to the *Mao Poetry* says: 'To end.'
