自陷（咸監反王逸注楚辭云陷沒也說文隨也從𠂤臽聲也臽陷坈阱也從人在臼中經從爪非也𠂤音負臼音舊象形字也）。

自陷 (Pronounced 咸 + 監 fanqie. Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: '陷 means to sink.' The Shuowen says: 'To drop; it derives from 𠂤 with 臽 as phonetic.' 臽 means a pitfall trap; it derives from a person inside a mortar (臼). In the sūtra it derives from 爪, which is incorrect. 𠂤 is pronounced 負; 臼 is pronounced 舊, a pictograph).
