鉞斧（袁厥反孔注尚書云鉞以黃金飾斧也顧野王云古者用鉞以殺人也司馬法云周時左杖黃鉞是也說文正作戉從戈[戉-戈]聲也[戉-戈]音厥經文從金作鉞時用已久）。

[Battle-axes] (Fanqie of 袁 [jw-] and 厥 [-iɐt]: Kong's commentary on the *Classic of Documents* says, "A 'yuè' (鉞) is an axe adorned with gold." Gu Yewang says, "In ancient times, battle-axes were used to execute people." The *Simafa* says, "In the Zhou era, one held the yellow battle-axe in the left hand." The *Shuowen jiezi* says, "Properly written as 戉, formed from 'dagger-axe' (戈) and the [戉-戈] phonetic." [戉-戈] is pronounced 厥 [k-]. The sūtra writes it with the "metal" radical as 鉞, which has been in conventional use for a long time).
