伶人（上力丁反賈注國語云伶司樂之官也鄭注毛詩序云伶氏世掌樂官而善焉故後世多號樂官為伶人也說文從人令聲也）。

Musicians (伶人: the first character has the sound l- [力] + -íng [丁] fanqie. Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the Guoyu says: '伶 is an official in charge of music.' Zheng's commentary on the preface to the Mao Poetry says: 'The Ling clan held the office of music for generations and were skilled at it; therefore later generations often called music officials língrén.' The Shuowen says: 'Formed from the human radical (人) with lìng (令) as phonetic').
