厭禱（上於琰反杜注左傳云厭以猒眾心也蒼頡篇云伏合人心曰厭說文從[(病-丙)-〦+一]猒聲下刀老反前密嚴經中卷已釋訖也）。

厭禱 (upper: *ʔo* + *yem* [yàn]: Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo tradition* says: '厭 means to suppress and satisfy the minds of the multitude.' The *Cang Jie pian* says: 'Subduing and bringing hearts into accord is called 厭.' The *Shuowen jiezi* says: 'Follows the illness radical with the phonetic *yàn* (猒).' Lower: *taw* + *law* [dǎo]: Already explained previously in the middle fascicle of the *Ghanavyūha-sūtra*).
