騃癡（上崖駭反蒼頡篇云騃無知也顧野王云癡亦騃也漢書云內騃不曉政是也說文從馬矣聲下恥持反埤蒼云癡亦騃也說文癡不惠也從疒疑聲考聲或從心作𢣕也）。

騃癡 ('stupid and foolish'; the upper character is pronounced 崖 [yá] + 駭 [hài] fanqie. The Cangjie pian says: '騃 [dǎi] means ignorant/without knowledge.' Gu Yewang says: '癡 [chī] also means 騃 [dǎi].' The Han shu says: 'Inwardly stupid and ignorant of governance,' which is this. The Shuowen has it composed of 馬 ['horse'] with 矣 as phonetic. The lower character is pronounced 恥 [chǐ] + 持 [chí] fanqie. The Picang says: '癡 [chī] also means 騃 [dǎi].' The Shuowen says: '癡 [chī] means lacking intelligence.' It is composed of 疒 ['disease'] with 疑 as phonetic. The Kaosheng notes that it is sometimes written with 心 ['mind'] as 𢣕).
