下蛘(餘掌反說文搔蛘禮記蛘不敢搔是也字從虫今皆作癢近字也又作痒音似羊反病名也痒非字義也)。

Xiàyǎng (下蛘, lower itching) (yú + zhǎng [yǎng] fanqie. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Scratching an itch (yǎng).' The Book of Rites says: 'When having an itch, do not dare scratch it.' It is written with the insect radical (虫). Today it is generally written as 癢, a recent character; it is also written as 痒, pronounced sì + yáng [yáng] fanqie, the name of a sickness; 痒 does not have this meaning of the character).
