懊悔（烏老反文字集略懊憹奴道反爾雅懊亦忨五煥反說文從心奧聲下呼會反毛詩傳曰悔恨也劉瓛言蹇反注周易悔改也說文從心每聲也）。

Regret and remorse (懊悔: the first character is [wu] + [lao]. The Wenzi jilüe says: '懊憹 [ào'nǎo]; 憹 has the fanqie [nu] + [dao].' The Erya says: '懊 [ào] also means 忨 [wán], with the fanqie [wu] + [huan].' The Shuowen says: 'It derives from 心 [heart] with 奧 [ào] phonetic.' The second character has the fanqie [hu] + [hui]. The Mao Shijing zhuan says: '悔 [huǐ] means resentment.' Liu Huan, with the fanqie [yan] + [jian], in his commentary on the Zhouyi says: '悔 means to reform.' The Shuowen says: 'It derives from 心 [heart] with 每 [měi] phonetic.').
