餚饍（上効交反俗字也正體單作肴考聲云脯羞也集訓云木果之屬也下音善鄭注禮記云膳進也今之美食皆曰珍膳從肉善聲經文從食作饍俗字非也爾雅云尤益之者矣）。

Fine delicacies (餚饍: the upper character [餚 is pronounced] 効 + 交 fanqie, a popular character; the standard form is written simply 肴; the Kaosheng says it means dried meat delicacies; the Jixun says it belongs to tree fruits; the lower character [饍] is pronounced 善; Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Liji says 膳 means to present; delicious food today is all called 'precious delicacies'; it is composed of 肉 'flesh' with 善 as its phonetic; the sūtra text writes it with 食 'food' as 饍, which is an incorrect popular character; the Erya says it means that which especially supplements).
