攘[(木/火)*戈]（上汝羊反王逸注楚辭云攘排也方言止也毛詩傳除也鄭注周禮云却也說文推也從手襄聲推音他雷反襄音箱下宰來反說文云天火曰[(木/火)*戈]從火找聲找音同上經文作災大篆古字也從火巛聲巛音[(栽-、)-木+万]說文云巛壅也從一一土也土壅巛為災今時俗通作灾古字也）。

攘[(木/火)*戈]: The first character has the fanqie [r]ǔ + [y]áng. Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "攘 means to push aside." The Fangyan says: "To stop." The Mao commentary on the Classic of Poetry says: "To eliminate." Zheng['s] commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: "To repel." The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "To push away. Composed of the hand radical (手) and 襄 phonetic." The pronunciation of 推 has the fanqie [t]ā + [l]éi. The pronunciation of 襄 is 箱. The second character has the fanqie [z]ǎi + [l]ái. The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "Fire from heaven is called [(木/火)*戈]. Composed of fire (火) and 找 phonetic." The pronunciation of 找 is the same as above. In the scripture text it is written as 災, which is the ancient character in great seal script, composed of fire (火) with 巛 phonetic. The pronunciation of 巛 is [(栽-、)-木+万]. The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "巛 means obstructed; composed of 一, representing earth. Earth obstructing water (巛) causes disaster (災). In current popular usage it is commonly written as 灾, which is an ancient character."
