虹起（胡東反爾雅云螮蝀虹也禮記季春之月虹始見是也說文從虫工聲螮音帝蝀音凍也）。

虹起 (a rainbow rises: hu + dong fanqie. The *Erya* says: "The didong is a rainbow." The *Liji* states: "In the last month of spring, rainbows begin to appear; this is it." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "Composed of 'insect' (虫) with gong (工) as its phonetic element." 螮 is di fanqie; 蝀 is dong fanqie).
