鄙穢（上悲美反杜預注左傳云鄙邊邑也史記謂邊鄙郊野之外名為鄙陋亦曰鄙夫下於衛反韻英云穢惡也字書云不清潔也形聲字也）。

Base and foul (鄙穢: the first character has the fanqie 悲美反; Du Yu's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: "Bi (鄙) means a border town." The Shiji refers to areas beyond the borders and suburbs as bi; it means rustic and base, also called a boor (鄙夫). The second character has the fanqie 於衛反; the Yunying states: "Hui (穢) means filthy."
