呰毀（上茲此反吳音子尒反鄭玄注禮記曰口毀曰呰說文云呰呵也從口此聲也經文有作訾亦同下暉鬼反尒雅毀壞也蒼頡篇云毀破也顧野王曰毀猶損也內損曰毀外損曰傷說文云毀缺也從土從[(口/米)*殳]省聲也或從王體郢反作毀古字也）。

呰毀 (The first character has the fanqie: 茲此反 [zǐ], or in Wu pronunciation: 子尒反 [zǐ]. Zheng Xuan's commentary on the Liji says: "Slander by mouth is called 呰." The Shuowen says: "呰 means to scold; semantic with 口, 此 is phonetic." In the sūtra text it is also written as 訾, which is the same. The second character has the fanqie: 暉鬼反 [huǐ]. The Erya says: "毀 means to destroy." The Cangjie pian says: "毀 means to break." Gu Yewang says: "毀 is like damaging; internal damage is called 毀, external damage is called 傷 (injury)." The Shuowen says: "毀 means to break or breach; semantic with 土 and [(口/米)*殳] with an omitted phonetic." Sometimes written with 玉 [under 体] (fanqie: 郢反 [yǐng]) as 毀, which is an ancient character).
