Falling into the privy (墮, the first character, has the fanqie phonetic spelling 徒果 [tu/guo]. Zheng's commentary on the Dadai Liji says: '墮 means to fall down.' The rhyme books say it means to drop down; it takes 土 as radical and 隋 as phonetic component. 隋 has the same sound as above. 廁, the second character, has the fanqie phonetic spelling 初事 [chu/shi]. The Shuowen jiezi says: '廁 means a latrine; it takes 广 as radical and 則 as phonetic component.' 广 has the fanqie phonetic spelling 魚撿 [yu/jian]).
