蚊蝱（下陌耕反莊子云蚊蝱噆膚也淮南子云蝱虫散積血是也聲類云似蠅而大也說文齧人飛蟲也從䖵經作蝱略不成字也）。

Mosquitoes and horseflies (蚊蝱: the second character has the fanqie m[ò] + [g]ēng. Zhuangzi says: "Mosquitoes and horseflies bite the skin." The Huainanzi says: "The horsefly insect disperses accumulated blood." The Shenglei says: "Resembles a fly but larger." The Shuowen says: "A flying insect that bites people; composed of double-insect [䖵]." The sūtra writes 蝱, which is an abbreviated form that hardly constitutes a proper character).
