In utter disarray (狼藉: for the first character, the fanqie is 洛 + 當. For the second character, the fanqie is 情 + 弈. Liu [Xi's] commentary on the Mengzi says: "The profusion of luxuriant grass is called 狼藉." The Yupian says: "Grass lying criss-cross." The Shuowen states: "The first character is formed from [the semantic component] 犬 and [the phonetic component] 良; the second character is formed from [the semantic component] 草 and the phonetic component [禾*(乂/〦/日)]." The sound of 稓 is the same as above.)
