怵惕（耻律反尚書怵惕唯厲孔安國曰怵惕懷懼也亦悽愴也說文怵恐也下又作悐同他狄反惕驚也）。

怵惕 (The first character has the fanqie *ch[ǐ] + [l]ǜ*. The Shangshu states: "Trembling and fearful (*chuti*), as if in peril." Kong Anguo states: "*Chuti* means harboring fear; it also means grieved and alarmed." The Shuowen jiezi states: "*Chu* means fearful." The second character is also written as 悐; both have the fanqie *t[ā] + [d]í*. *Ti* means frightened).
