朽墜級（上休抑反次直類反下音急尚書曰朽索之馭六馬孔安國曰朽腐也腐索馭馬言危懼之甚也隊正作墜墜墮並形聲字也）。

Rotten and falling steps (朽墜級): The first character is xiu plus yi fan; the next is zhi plus lei fan; the lower character is pronounced ji. The Shangshu says: 'Driving six horses with rotten reins.' Kong Anguo says: 'Xiu (朽) means decayed. Driving horses with decayed reins expresses extreme danger and fear.' Dui (隊) is properly written zhui (墜); zhui (墜) and duo (墮) are both phono-semantic characters.
