[日/出/大/((犀-尸)-牛+十)]惡（上蒱冐反鄭注周禮云侵陵也爾雅強也廣雅猝也考聲犯也速也字書猛也害也無善也說文疾有所趣也從[(犀-尸)-牛+十]從㬥省聲也[(犀-尸)-牛+十]音滔下阿各反考聲不善也集訓陋也說文過也從亞亞醜也從心經文從覀作𢙣因草隸書訛謬也）。

[日/出/大/((犀-尸)-牛+十)]惡: The first character is pronounced 蒱 + 冐 fanqie. Zheng [Xuan]’s commentary on the Zhouli says: “It means to encroach upon and bully.” The Erya says: “It means strong.” The Guangya says: “It means sudden.” The Kaosheng says: “It means to violate; swift.” The Zishu says: “Fierce; harmful; devoid of goodness.” The Shuowen says: “Rushing toward somewhere with haste. It is formed from [(犀-尸)-牛+十] with a reduced form of 㬥 as phonetic.” [(犀-尸)-牛+十] is pronounced 滔. The second character is pronounced 阿 + 各 fanqie. The Kaosheng says: “Not good.” The Jixun says: “Base.” The Shuowen says: “Fault. It is formed from 亞 (which means ugly) and from 心.” In the sūtra text it is written with 覀 as 𢙣, which is an error due to cursive clerical script.
