Resisting and defying (拒逆: for the first character, the fanqie is 渠圄 [jù]. The Yunying says: 'To block, to bar.' The Guangya says: 'To ward off (捍 [hàn]).' The Shuowen says: '拒 means to resist (抗 [kàng]).' The Yunquan says: '拒 means to disobey').
