卵㲉（上落管反說文云凡物無乳者卵生也象形古文作[亦-〦]小篆作[兆-?+?]隷書作卵下苦角反集訓云鳥卵皮曰㲉考聲云卵空也從卵𣪊苦角反省聲也）。

卵㲉 (eggshell: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 落管. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Whatever creatures lack nipples are egg-born; it is a pictograph.' The ancient character was [亦-〦]; the small seal was [兆-?+?]; the clerical script is 卵. The second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 苦角. The Jixun says: 'The skin of a bird's egg is called què (㲉).' The Kaosheng says: 'An egg cavity; it derives from 卵 with 𣪊 [苦角] abbreviated as phonetic.')
