來襲（尋立反杜注左傳云掩其不備也周禮云襲謂掩捕之也說文從衣龍聲也）。

來襲 (The second syllable is *xí* [xun + li fanqie]. Du Yu's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: "It means catching them unprepared." The Zhouli says: "襲 (*xí*) means to surprise and capture." The Shuowen jiezi states that it is formed with 'clothing' (衣) and 龑/龍 as the phonetic component).
