瀉藥（星夜反凡潟藥為除五藏膓胃積熱及宿食不消故以藥蕩除去其滓帶今體氣通暢即如今之大黃朴消巴豆犀角等是也）。

瀉藥 purgative medicine: xing + ye fan [xiè]. In general, purgative medicines are used to eliminate accumulated heat in the five viscera, intestines, and stomach, as well as undigested food from the previous day; thus, one clears away impurities and blockages with medicine so that the bodily qi flows unobstructed. These are just like rhubarb, mirabilite, croton seeds, rhinoceros horn, and the like of today.
