畜眾（許六反毛詩傳曰畜養也孟子曰字而不愛豕畜之愛而不敬獸畜之淮南王曰玄田為畜文字典說從田從玄玄牝也）。

畜眾 (Maintaining followers: Pronounced *xu* + *liu* [xù]. The commentary to the *Mao Classic of Poetry* states: '畜 means to rear.' Mencius states: 'To nourish without loving is to raise like pigs; to love without respecting is to keep like beasts.' The King of Huainan says: 'Black field (玄田) forms 畜.' The *Wenzi dianshuo* has it composed of 田 and 玄; 玄 indicates the mysterious female).
