綜習（上宗送反列女傳云織者可以喻治政推而往引而來者曰綜說文機縷持絲交者也從糸宗聲下尋入反顧野王云習謂積習成之也尚書曰習與性成說文從羽從白經從言作謵非也謵音獵殊非經意也）。

綜習 (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 宗 + 送 [zòng]. The Lienü zhuan says: "Weaving can serve as a metaphor for governance: pushing forward and pulling back is called zong." The Shuowen says: "The loom threads that hold and cross the silk strands." It takes the silk radical [糸] and has 宗 as its phonetic component. The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 尋 + 入 [xí]. Gu Yewang says: "習 refers to accumulating practice to accomplish it." The Shangshu says: "Habit [習] becomes nature." The Shuowen says it takes 羽 and 白. The sūtra writes 謵 with the speech radical [言], which is incorrect; 謵 has the sound of 獵 [liè], and is completely contrary to the sūtra's meaning.)
