訶責（虎珂反考聲云訶譭也音毀怒也集訓云訶責也韻英云叱怒也經作阿亦通下莊革反說文責求也從貝從朿音刺省聲也說文作𧵩古字也）。

訶責 ("to berate and scold"): The character has the fanqie reading [h- + -ɑ = hē] (虎珂反). The Kaosheng says: "訶 means to denounce (譭, pronounced huǐ); to be angry." The Jixun says: "訶 means to scold." The Yunying says: "To shout at in anger." In sūtras it is written 阿, which is also acceptable. The second character has the fanqie reading [ʈʂ- + -ɛk = zé] (莊革反). The Shuowen says: "責 means to demand. It is formed with the radical 貝 ('cowrie/wealth') and an abbreviated 朿 (pronounced cì) as phonetic. In the Shuowen it is written 𧵩 in ancient script."
