拔濟（上辦八反考聲云拔抽也救也桂苑珠藂云引出也說文云拔擢也從扌犮聲也下精曳反孔注尚書云濟渡也杜注左傳云濟益也賈注國語云濟成也古今正字云從水齊聲也）。

To rescue and deliver (baji 拔濟: the upper word is [pronounced] with the fanqie ban + ba [ba]. The Kaosheng says: 'Ba 拔 means to draw out, to save.' The Guiyuan zhuceng says: 'It means to lead out.' The Shuowen says: 'Ba means to pull up; it is categorized under the hand radical 扌 and takes ba 犮 as phonetic.' The lower word is [pronounced with the fanqie] jing + ye [ji]. Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: 'Ji 濟 means to ferry across.' Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: 'Ji means to benefit.' Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: 'Ji means to accomplish.' The Gujin zhengzi says: 'It is categorized under the water radical 水 and takes qi 齊 as phonetic.').
