吽嚇（上呼口反賈逵云吽呼也聲類噑也古今正字從牛口聲亦作𤘽或作呴譜作吼俗字也下赫亞反鄭箋詩云以口非人謂之嚇埤蒼哮嚇大怒也古今正字從口赫聲）。

Growling and roaring (吽嚇): The upper character is [read with the fanqie] 呼口. Jia Kui says: '吽 means to cry out.' The Shenglei says it means to howl. The Gujin zhengzi states it takes 牛 as radical and 口 as phonetic; it is also written as 𤘽 or 呴. In the register it is written as 吼, a vulgar character. The lower character is [read with the fanqie] 赫亞. Zheng's commentary on the Shijing says: 'To criticize someone with vocal sounds is called 嚇.' The Picang says: '哮嚇 means great wrath.' The Gujin zhengzi states it takes 口 as radical and 赫 as phonetic.
