俛仰（明弁反俗字也杜注左傳云俛俯也說文低頭正體從頁從兆作頫頁音頡下仰音魚襁反易曰仰以觀於天文也說文舉首也從人從卬聲也卬音魚兩反）。

俛仰 (the first character is the fanqie 明 + 弁 [miǎn]; a popular character. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "俛 means bowing down." The Shuowen: "Bowing the head; the standard form is composed of 頁 and 兆, written as 頫." 頁 is the fanqie 頡 [xié]. The second character, 仰, is pronounced with the fanqie 魚 + 襁 [yǎng]; the Yijing says: "Looking upward to observe the astronomical signs." The Shuowen: "Raising the head; from 人 [person] with 卬 providing the sound." 卬 is the fanqie 魚 + 兩 [yǎng]).
