派入 ("Branching into"): The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 鼻 + 賣 (pài). The Guangya states: 'When water branches out, it is called a pài.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'Pài means a slanted tributary branch of water; it takes the radical 水 (water) and the radical 𠂢; 𠂢 is an inverted 永.' The sound and meaning are likewise identical.
