搜購（上所周反杜注左傳搜𨵃也字書求也說文從手叜聲傳從叟作搜俗字也下溝漏反說文以財有求曰購從貝冓聲冓音同）。

搜購 (Searching and purchasing: the first is *srjo-tsyuw* [sōu]; Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "*Sou* means to seek out." The character books say: "To search for." The Shuowen [says]: "Formed with the hand radical and phonetic *sōu*." In the transmission written with 叟 as 搜 is a popular character. The second is *kuw-luw* [gòu]; the Shuowen [says]: "Seeking something by means of wealth is called *gou*; formed with the cowry radical and phonetic *gou*." *Gòu* is pronounced the same).
