鄙𨛋（離子反蒼頡篇云𨛋國之下邑也何休注公羊傳曰𨛋鄙也如淳注漢書云言雖質猶不如閭里之鄙言也說文從邑里聲論文從人作俚誤）。

Rustic and vulgar (鄙𨛋: [𨛋 is] li-zi fan [lǐ]. The Cang Jie pian says: “Li is a lower village of a state.” He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: “Li means rustic.” Ru Chun's commentary on the Hanshu says: “Although the speech is plain, it is still not as unrefined as the rustic talk of the alleys and villages.” The Shuowen [jiezi] says: “Formed with 邑 ('settlement') and li phonetic.” In the text of the treatise, written with 人 as 俚 is an error).
