Privy and pigsty (廁圂: [圂 is] hun-kun fan [hùn]. The Cang Jie pian says: “Hun is where pigs live.” The Shuowen [jiezi] says: “Hun means a privy.” The Dianshuo says: “Formed with a pig (豕) inside an enclosure (口); it is a pictographic character.” 口 is pronounced wei [wéi]. In the text of the treatise, written with 水 as 溷 is an error).
