鐫石（𰚀緣反方言云鐫琢也廣雅鐫鑿也說文云琢金石也從金雋聲雋音徂兖反論文作此鎸俗字雋字從隹從橫弓也）。

鐫石 (*j-y-: The Fangyan says: "鐫 means to carve and chisel." The Guangya says: "鐫 means to cut with a chisel." The Shuowen jiezi says: "It means to chisel metal or stone. Formed from 金 with 雋 phonetic." 雋 is pronounced *c-y-. In the treatise it is written as this 鎸, a popular character. The character 雋 is formed from 隹 with a horizontal 弓.)
