東鰈（貪盍反比目魚也狀如牛脾細鱗黑色爾半魚各有一目相合乃行江東水中有此魚也俗呼王餘說文魚也或從去音與鰈同形聲字）。

東鰈: [鰈] has the fanqie *th- / hap* (貪盍反); the flatfish (bǐmùyú); its shape is like a bovine spleen, with fine scales and a black colour; as half-fish, each possesses only one eye, and they must unite before they can swim; this fish exists in the waters east of the Yangtze River; vulgarly called wángyú (King's remainder); the Shuowen says it is a fish; or written with 'qù' (去), with the same pronunciation as 'dié'; a phono-semantic compound character.
