煒曅（上韋鬼反考聲煒曄光彩盛貌說文亦盛明貌從火韋聲或從日作暐亦通下炎輒反考聲正作[日/((傘-(企-止))-┬+ㄎ)]說文從日華聲今作燁或作曄變體俗字也）。

煒曅 (The upper [character] is wei + gui [wěi]. The Kaosheng [says]: "煒曄 is the appearance of brilliant, flourishing splendour." The Shuowen also [says]: "The appearance of flourishing brightness; it derives from 火 [fire] with 韋 as phonetic." It is also written with 日 [sun] as 暐, which is also acceptable. The lower [character] is yan + zhe [yè]. In the Kaosheng it is properly written as [日/((傘-(企-止))-┬+ㄎ)]. The Shuowen [notes that it] derives from 日 [sun] with 華 as phonetic. Nowadays it is written as 燁 or as 曄, which are vulgar variant forms.)
