Hearsay / unverified rumors ([讂-目+(目*〡)]聞): [The first character is pronounced] *xue* + *juan* fan. The Cangjie pian says: '讂 means posting notices to seek something.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Spreading rumors; also ungrounded talk. It is formed with [the semantic classifier] speech (言) and the phonetic component *xiong* (敫/敻).' The Ji[wen] also writes it as 讂, which does not constitute a proper character.
