Zhang and Fu Rivers (漳滏: the first character is zhuó + yáng fanqie [zhāng]. The Book of Han says: "The Zhang is the name of a river." There are two Zhang Rivers: one is the Clear Zhang, the second is the Turbid Zhang. The Turbid Zhang emerges from Mount Lugu in Zhangzi County of Shangdang, goes east to Ye, and joins the Clear Zhang. The Clear Zhang emerges from Dayao Valley in Mount Zhan and flows north into the Yellow River. The Shuowen says: "It has the water radical, with 章 as phonetic." The second character is fú + wǔ fanqie [fǔ]. The Shanhaijing says: "The Fu River issues from Mount Shenhun, flows west to Fukou in Linshui County, passes north of Handan, and enters the Zhang. Its water is constantly hot, hence named the Fu River." The Gujin zhengzi says: "It has the water radical, with 釜 as phonetic." 圂 is hú + běn fanqie [hùn]).
